Large vintage silver necklace brutalist pendant with rose quartz stone 835 mark

Sterling silver necklace, large pendant and chain in an abstract brutalist design. At the centre of the pendant is a small rose quartz ball. A very interesting modernist design. The pendant measures 40 x 67 mm, 1 1/2" x 2 5/8". The bale is at the back of the piece. The chain, a very good quallity flat belcher chaiin, measures 600 mm, 24 inches long. Stamped 835 only on the bale, and 835 and the maker's mark, FBM, on the chain. The two parts certainly seem to have been put together originally but the maker of the pendant may not be the maker of the chain. No matter, a stunning piece. 835 is a continental standard of silver, and was perhaps a standard in German more than any other country. The style could certainly be German, and it is almost certainly a vintage piece.

Stylistically 1960s or 1970s, although the modernist brutalist pieces were made over much of the second half of the twentieth century. Very good vintage used condition.
